Used this for a trip over to the UK, worked great solid case for the price. The clamps are not as user friendly as my pelican cases but for the price and durability I'll live with them.Good caseI took this to Alaska for work tools that weighed 35 lbs and took it on 9 commercial airline flights. Came back home with minimal damage, only scratches. My regular luggage was ruined by the airlines with some greasy substance that I will never get out. I just wiped the substance off this case. Why pay more? I would definitely buy it again, but won't need to for a while.I wanted a case for an Auber PID, (an external thermostat) for my smoker. I had been storing it outside, unprotected, in an outdoor kitchen area. I wanted to make sure it was protected from the weather, moisture, dirt and dust. I thought about getting a Pelican Case from Amazon, but the size was just off and the next size up was too pricey. After researching it on Amazon, I found that Amazon Basics had a very similar case that was just the right size. When I received it, I was surprised and very pleased at how easy it was to pick away the pre-cut foam to get a custom fit. There is also a second piece of foam if it is necessary, which in my case, it wasn't.I can't compare this case to a Pelican because I've never owned one. I realize they are considered the Mercedes of this category, but if your needs are more basic, as were mine, this is an ideal way to protect small electronics with a hard plastic case that shuts super tight in order to keep out the elements.I think this case is a great value and a very well designed product. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again!Excellent Small Hard Case. It Has A Confident Feel Of Strength And Durability. The exterior has a nice smooth curves overall. The interior has a few what look like accessory slots. The rubberized handle feels great. The latches are strong yet easy to open and close. The metal rods used for the latches and hinge are a nice strong diameter. When opening the lid upward at a slight angle (lid toward base) some resistance and a soft click is felt. The lid rests upright a little past vertical so its less likely to close on fingers or contents. The hinge has flat contact areas that so the lid can be left open at a slight angle.lid will not lay totally flat or level with the base.Using a basic ruler. The internal measurements are Approx.. 10 7/8" x 8" x 4 1/2" The Upper Lid is Approx. 1 1/4" deep. The Lower Base is Approx. 3 1/4" deep.CONSPRO AND CON. The hinge design does not allow the upper lid to lay totally flat or level with base when its opened. It all depends on an individuals needs whether this is good or bad.SLIGHT CON. The foam has a faint odor. Just let it air out some. UPDATE. 02-20-2018 The foam still has the same slight odor. Will let it air out more to see if it helps.MAYBE CON. There's 2 small holes near the latches not sure if they were for a shoulder strap or luggage tags. The secured latch blocks these 2 holes somewhat.SLIGHT CON. When the pressure relief valve is tightened Approx 1/8" thread can be seen inside the case.Simply work with the case design. Plan ahead and take care when plucking foam and packing larger items.CON. The warranty being only 1 year.MAYBE CON. Can a customer get a new seal or gasket or hinge parts in the future if needed.Overall its a great hard case and a great value. This is a good quality case for the price. Better way to lug around a good amount of gear than shoving it all into a backpack. Bottom two layers of foam can be modified to carry cables and misc small items. I use it to carry and Godox AD300, AD200, Canon 17mm ts-e, Sigma 12-24mm, 2 flash chargers, flash remote & receivers and some misc cables.Great value, they just slapped a amazon label on another brands quality product. Easy to remove said labelFour Stars but…The case is a close replica of a Pelican case, a well build plastic transport case to protect whatever you choose. However, there are some notable deviations from a Pelican case. (1) First, and I think this is a big issue, the case does not stand vertically. The case is engineered to lay flat however when the case is put down vertically ( with the handle up), it stands at an angle and is not steady. The problem is, unlike the Pelican, the hinges touch the floor and the case sits on them unevenly. There is no additional support to keep the case upright. (2) The foam in the lid is not glued to the top of the case. A minor annoyance when opening the case – the foam falls out. (3) When I received the case, the foam had a very strong organic solvent smell (acetone?). After leaving the case open for a day , the smell has nearly gone. (4) The latches have a slightly different locking method compared to the Pelican. They are not as solidly built. (5) The is no metal reinforcement of the holes that accept locks. This case has holes for the locks but they are just holes in the plastic. Other than these exceptions, the case is a good sub for a Pelican, at a fraction of the cost. The case will probably not perform as a Pelican roughly handled during repeated travel but I suspect it will be fine for protection during storage. All in all, it is a value for the price, perfectly suited for storage or light travel. So close! It missed the mark due to the foam system and being a little bit small for my needs. I would have kept it if there were velcro dividers. The foam came in two layers and when taking a lens out it would often bring the top layer with it. The space didn’t suffice for two camera bodies and 5 lenses. Further more, the little foam squares are just annoying! Once the holes are made, you would be stuck with that. There also seemed to be some lose foam fluff and that would probably get worse over time! I’m not risking getting foam fluff in my lenses!Main points for Amazon to improve. (Please do and I will certain buy one again).1. Make a option for a divider Velcro System - foam is not good!2. Bring a larger case option about x1.75 this size (current large option)3. Please stop calling your brand amazon basics! They are not basic, they’re good quality at a great price. Far from basic...just naming Amazon Brand, or even better, just Amazon!Hope to see more options in the future, keep up the good work!I purchased this not for its intended purpose (camera equipment) but in order to take a basic set of tools on international flights. In the past, I have checked in my toolbox as hold luggage (you can't take tools in hand luggage), but on the last trip it arrived missing its handle, and the display of my multi meter was cracked, and having seen the way baggage handlers "care" for passengers bags, I decided I needed something with more padding.I looked at peli cases but they're horrendously expensive, this case is a much cheaper alternative, and hopefully it's up to the task. I don't need anything truly watertight, just sturdy and with a foam insert, but this case looks like it would be.Pros:Excellent value for moneyFairly light weightSeems sturdy, not tested it long term thoughFoam insert is of good qualityLabel/name tag insert is well designed, can't be removed unless case is openedCons:Would prefer the padlock attachment point to be in the center, to fully secure the case you have to use two padlocks, which is a bit inconvenient. If you use a single padlock the case can be partially prised open on the other side, potentially contents could be exposed that way.Not really a con, more of a personal preference, but i would've preferred the foam inside to be a single piece, so it can be cut with a stanley knife like other cases. I can see why amazon did this however as a lot of people wouldn't be comfortable doing that, the pre-cut squares design is "tool-less".I was looking for a watertight heavy-duty box for my lenses which can take pretty much any abuse possible when out and about.I got it. this Amazon Hard case is well made, VERY strong/tough/thick Plastic, incredibly sturdy and has room enough for up to 8/9 lenses.I stood my friend on it - he is 148kg - the box didn't give in in any way. It didn't even give any ''crunching'' sound or a squeak.Carrying handle, long handle for ''rolling along'' are both strong. It is clean and does not ''catch your eye''It probably will outlast me - good for those whoch will inherite my cameras!I've bought it to store kit at home in one place rather than travel about with it but it would be handy to load up the car if you were going to cover a range of possibilities at a location. As it is quite plain, it doesn't advertise "cameras". The case appears sturdy and the latches snap shut with a satisfying "clunk". It is quite heavy even before loading your camera gear. This large size I've used for three mirror-less bodies. their battery grips plus 5 prime lenses. It might be able to take one body plus long, medium and short zooms but I'm going to order another for my zoom lenses. It comes with two foam inserts although I've only needed to use one, so keeping the other as a spare. Take your time peeling out the pre-cut sections and use two fingers to prise apart the cuts before carefully lifting out the sections.Edit; The external mouldings mean the cases are stackable so you can put two together in the car boot and they will stay stacked (assuming you don't corner like a F1 driver...). The foam is still intact after plenty of use but any "dust" issues can be solved by using lens bags or use camera insert bags instead of the foam.SturdinessVery well made and seems very strong. Looks very nice as I’ve used to to keep camera equipment safe. Dose come with breakout foam in two layers that’s quite firm. I wish they would add a plastic tray between the two that would be a great idea but still a very good itemValue for moneyGreat value.. don’t get me wrong it’s not the cheapest but comparing to some of the high branded ones I have had this is great valueTravelling:Can’t give you an honest answer. I get this as we was planning to travel overseas but due to someone in China getting peckish and deciding to eat a bat we ended up in lockdown cancelled two holidays (I don’t know why kfc was not good enough but)Other than that a all round good item
